The US markets were up solidly yesterday, showing signs of confidence that the current trade war skirmish between the United States and China (and other major trade partners), might take a turn in the direction of new agreements. Part of the reason for this might be that, although China has stated that it will pursue more retaliatory actions, there are subtle indications that China is not in as strong of a bargaining position as many might have assumed.
